What are Cup Cozies?
Do you ever go into a certain coffee shop (that shall not be named, but rhymes with farbucks) and use those cardboard cup rings to keep your hands from burning or freezing? They’re great and I’m so glad cafes are starting to use them. But, of course, some other cafes don’t offer them so you either have to request a second cup to be a heat barrier, or just deal with your burning fingers. The crochet and knit community have come up with a wonderful solution: handmade cup cozies! I love making them because they’re so quick and simple.
All you have to do is make yourself a pretty cozie and throw it in your purse so you have it the next time you get your coffee or tea!
Below is my pattern for a super simple cup cozie and it is great for beginner crocheters! If you would like to purchase a printable PDF without the ads, click here. It only costs $1 and helps keep my small business running. Thank you for your support <3
Materials:
• Yarn – Medium weight size 4 (if you are using the cozie for hot drinks, do not use acrylic yarn as it could melt. If it’s for cold drinks, cotton or acrylic work fine.) You can purchase the cotton yarn here or acrylic yarn here.
• 5.5 mm crochet hook, which you can purchase here.
• Blunt needle to weave in ends, purchase here.
• Measuring tape, purchase here.
Pattern Key:
• Ch = Chain
• SC = Single Crochet
